The W.A.H.U. Foundation, the charitable arm of the Wisconsin Association of Health Underwriters was recognized with The William F. Flood Public Service Award on Monday, June 25 at the Denver Hyatt Convention Center. The National Association of Health Underwriters presents this award to one state or local chapter that excels in public service activities during the period of April 1, 2007, through March 31, 2008.
The Annual Charity Golf Outing that was held September 13, 2020 at the Brown Deer Golf Course was highlighted at the Award Ceremony. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, TGT Charity, and the Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation were the three charities that had over 135 WAHU golfers hitting the tee.
The WAHU local chapters hosted their Summer Golf Outings in New Berlin, Madison, and the Fox Valley, raising monies for the Ronald McDonald Charities of Dane County, the Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs, and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
WAHU works everyday to improve the health care and health care coverage industry for consumers. Through our legislative efforts, we have fought for the rights of consumers relative to costs and the ability to continue purchasing health care and the financing for it through the private sector.
Through our Foundation (The W.A.H.U. Foundation), we have worked to educate our membership so that WAHU members are the most qualified and educated health insurance professionals in Wisconsin. Also through our Foundation, we have worked to educate employers about our industry so that they can become better consumers of health care and health care coverage.
