Happy Summer to everyone!  We waited patiently for summer to arrive and now it’s already flying by.  One sure sign of summer is road construction…..how is everyone doing dodging orange road construction barrels?!

There has been much discussion regarding the future of our industry and with the presidential election coming, there will be much more to come.  Now is the time for all of us to getting fully engaged in educating our politicians, clients and consumers on the value their agents and insurance carriers bring to them.  Remember, WAHU has a PowerPoint presentation on Sensible Health Care Solutions for us to use in the education process.

One of the dangers we face is having a single payer system take over incrementally.  First BadgerCare and now BadgerCare Plus.  The proposed changes for 2009 and 2010 will further erode the private market.  What can do we……get involved and invite those who aren’t members to join us!  The next opportunity is at our Chapter meeting.

Mark your calendar for August 6^th in Eau Claire and August 7^th in Wausau.  We will be having CE on BadgerCare Plus, plus other excellent CE opportunities.

Don’t forget the Annual Conference is coming up September 17^th – 19^th at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.  We have a fantastic line up ranging from our NAHU President to a motivational speaker on keeping positive in this challenging time. 

Together we can make a difference for our industry.  The industry has been good to us; now it’s our turn to give back.  I’m looking forward to seeing you at the Chapter meetings and Annual Conference.
