Delta Dental of Wisconsin (DDWI) is seeking a Director, Account Management to join our team in Stevens Point, WI. Delta Dental of Wisconsin is a not-for-profit dental service corporation that administers and underwrites easy-to-use, cost-effective dental plans for employers throughout Wisconsin. We've grown to become the largest dental benefits provider in the state, covering more than 1 million employees and family members. The Director, Account Management position is responsible to manage all activities servicing accounts and their primary subscribers. The director is responsible for renewal of Delta Dental’s large and small group accounts. The position is also responsible for sales activity as it relates to the additional lines of coverage to current customers.
Responsibilities
Develop, monitor and adjust account management strategies towards goals and objectives, ensure efficiency and provision for excellent customer satisfaction
Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals for account management function
Develop effective use of customer management relationship (CRM) software to maximize effectiveness of sales efforts
Direct sales account staff in the day-to-day management of their accounts; manage workflow
Develop and implement account management policies and procedures
Plan and approve Human Resources recommendations to include hiring and training of motivated sales staff that focus on developing strong customer relationships and meeting sales and retention goals. Develop and coordinate sales incentive plan.
Conduct performance management of staff
Develop and communicate key messages to staff; schedule and facilitate department meetings
Meet with key clients, assisting account executives with maintaining relationships
Distribute clear and comprehensive communications to sales staff, brokers and external customers when procedures are updated or policy changes affect benefits; provide training for broker/agent network
Develop and oversee the stewardship plan for our key customers
Oversee preparation of and make renewal presentations to key brokers and group decision makers
Promote interdepartmental cooperation by developing and maintaining a team environment and act as a resource for questions regarding products and services
Recommend product positioning, packaging and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
Works effectively with the Acquisition Team and the Service Team to manage the on boarding and retention of accounts
Work with the Vice President, Sales & Marketing to develop and coordinate annual corporate sales and marketing plan
Develop key metrics, prepare monthly sales reports, review and analyze sales performance against programs, objectives and plans and implement necessary actions
Work with director, marketing to plan market research initiatives and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
Develop and manage account management budget
Special projects and duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Personal Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, education, public administration or healthcare administration and 5- 7 years of progressive people and functional management experience in the insurance industry or other business to business service/financial field
Must have Wisconsin Health Insurance license
Well versed in the operations of group benefits carriers, including knowledge of enrollment, billing, claims processing and customer service functions
Possess a valid driver license and meet Delta Dental of Wisconsin’s driver requirements
Excellent communication skills, written and oral, as well as strong interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various audiences
· Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills are required
Excellent group facilitation skills, human relations skills, oral and written communications and public speaking skills are required
Proficiency with MS Office and proprietary software applications
· Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse or to handle other computer components

This position is responsible for the promotion, sale and servicing of group Dental and Eye Care insurance, prepaid and ASO contracts offered by the Ameritas Group Division.
Dimensions:
Assigned Territory: Subject to change based on relationships and outcomes. However, a general marketing area of Western WI will be assigned.
Volume: As set in annual sales plans.
Servicing: Maintain persistency to company plan.
Expense account: Pre-determined budgets established.
Nature and Scope:
Position Location and Department Function: Under the supervision of the Regional Vice President, this position contributes to the generation of increase sales volume and to the maintenance of existing sales volume of our products with assigned relationships and markets.
Essential Functions: The position will solve for the needs of the employer, broker and insureds related to our product offerings, which are group dental and eye care with variations to meet customer needs. These products are sold through broker relationships. Other relationships such as TPA’s will be considered.
The marketplace in which this position operates is highly competitive and sophisticated. This position’s primary thrust is to maintain a high level of service to existing clients and contribute to increased sales in this marketplace. Committed sales results are delivered on a quarterly basis.
The incumbent secures business written via assigned markets and brokers. This position promotes broker development through personal contacts, and all approved marketing and sales methods. The individual ensures that submitted cases meet acceptable underwriting principles via the solicitation method outlined.
In addition, the incumbent assists brokers on sales presentations and enrollments. This includes both new and existing business.
Under the guidance of the Regional Vice President, this position monitors group business ensuring high quality of the producers. The incumbent also must exercise sound judgment in the expenditure of company funds. The incumbent begins with a narrow scope of decision-making, and it increases with experience. The successful Group Representative will know their competitors and understand contractual differences to position Ameritas for sales results.
The incumbent is continually challenged to develop new business in a highly competitive marketplace and maintain the loyalty of the producers. Group Representative will be requested to focus sales efforts to meet company objectives. Focus efforts may include by product type, industry, case size or sales method.
Contact with Others:
Primarily, this position’s contacts with producers are new contacts and assigned relationships if appropriate. The incumbent also works with the Home Office Group Division staff in servicing existing business and writing new business. The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining good relations with local civic and professional organizations in developing and maintaining business and community relations.
