2010 Gilray Award Recipient - James Krogstad
 Annually the WI Association of Health Underwriters selects a member of our peer group to receive the Robert C. Gilray Award. Bob Gilray was a long time WAHU member and strong believer in making WAHU a better place for the next generation of agents. Today’s recipient exemplifies that purpose. As a long time WAHU member myself, I have experienced this persons commitment to our Association as Board member for 10+ years. This person is strong and decisive about making decisions and pushing the envelope. Yet, if the majority wants to move in another direction, that is okay. This is truly a giving person in the fact that they have been dedicated to WAHU through giving their time, talent and financial commitment and doing all this without the worry of being put into the limelight. To me, that is the mark of a true Professional.
You might expect the selection of our award winner would be difficult. But I believe WAHU has numerous individuals worthy of this award and the difficulty is we can only select one per year.
This member has many years of behind the scenes service to our organization in which he has been a consistent, strong and thoughtful contributor to what makes this organization not only strong but thriving. They have given more through actions not words over the years. They have spent considerable effort not only as a past Board member, but as a promoter and active member of WAHU’s effort. Their generosity, time and talent have been instrumental in the successful emergence of WAHU as a leader of health insurance organizations, and today they will be recognized by their peers as a true professional.
